I was the top man on truck 3 that night and we were first on the roof and were able to cut 2 holes on the south exposure since the actual fire building had fire already through the roof. Then we heard the chief tell everyone to go defensive so we set up the first ladder pipe. I was at the tip of the aerial squirting water for over an hour before we got relieved at 6:30am

Great "stick" work with the trucks... most impressive... also plenty of fire for everybody too so it looks like this defensive attack was methodically coordinated and planed out... Best damn dept there is on the West Coast!

Actually in 3's first in. I was acting engineer that night, first engine on scene. I am engineer at 9's now. We had 9 ladderpipees going. and several portable monitors. Water flowing on the street over the curbs.

Gotta love being the FF around the 3 minute mark... sitting on top the rig spraying water on the blaze outta the monitor from a safe vantage point.. LOL...

since this is in central city, is this in 9's area?

Close, but I think it might be closer to 3's....probably about the same distance between 9 and 3's to this intersection.
