I'm thinking of buying the new 2012 Edge. Do you advise me not to buy it?
do those problems make you regret buying the car?
or it's just a minor thing that you could live with?

Good advice! I find it strange that people suggest that having a car with a computer issue is a possible starting point for a lawsuit. Strange, I've been trying to work around Microsoft software for 30 years -- and rebooting seems to always be the temporary fix. No one ever sued MS before over the way they have always created their software....

Thanks...did this on my Edge this morning to fix a locked Sync screen. Worked perfectly!

@Fordfan1997 I was wondering the same thing. But I looked into it Canada they can option out there vehicles with different options then we can in the US. They can get push start on SELs. Lucky people!

You rule! 2011 Ford Explorer Limited and I've been doing the fuse thing for a year now ever couple of months! I'm going to try your trick next time.

It really is sad that we have to do this on such a regular basis. What would you do if you had to keep pulling the power cord on your brand new home computer or laptop to get it working again? I learned about pulling fuse #29 only nine days after driving off with my new vehicle. After 13 months of my ownership, Ford has yet to fix the MyFord Touch system. I wonder what going to happen when thousands of MyFord Touch owners sue them? This sounds class action to me.

If this is a 2011 ford edge SEL then i couldnt have been with the push botton start. so i am guessing you ordered this edge SEL with intelligent access with push button start?

Man this video was exactly what I'm looking for :), thank you a lot!
@elpqf the software reset option wont solve this bug, I have tried it many times myself, I knew it needed a "power reset" just like a computer or a smart phone! this video is the solution :D.

Dude you don't need to pull anything!! Just do a "Master Reset" from the setting menu and it will basically reset itself the same way but I guess in a safer mode.
Sometimes you get a white screen and can't access the menu. This is what you do.

so the plug you pulled you said was the power for the fuse box..
but you meant the power to the touch screen only right?
so the problem with everyone just resetting this is Ford doesnt have a record of how many times it is really a problem eh?
but thanks for the post.. wonder if the explorer has the same plug..

@globewalker99 This is what the dealer will do when you take the car back.
Ford knows about the issue, as does Microsoft (from what I read).
No software update has been released YET.
It`s for ALL MyFord Touch systems.
