    HI,

When did you feel it was the 'right time' to let her go? how bad did she get before? Not sure what to expect. Isabel has kept going way longer than I thought she would but now she finds it hard to do her 'business' and her front legs have started giving way..

Would appreciate some feedback. Thank you, Sarah

  • very nce to here,my chihuahuha has CH also.shes doing great and full of happyness ,x

  • Isabel has had ataxia from birth. She is now (4th Feb 2011) 16 months. The ataxia is degenerative. I have had her on homeopathic medication since August. It immediately gave her more bounce and energy. In November I ran out, had her reassessed and waited a further 8 days for her new meds. By the 7th day she could no longer stand unaided. Four days back on the medication, she was up and bouncing and happier than ever!

  • Our Karma-pup was the same way... She way put down obout 2 weeks ago... :(

  • What a gorgeous little lady! I have a healthy JRT who I love to bits and it breaks my heart to know that there are selfish people out there that abuse such amazing animals just for money! My JRT is my best friend and is more intelligent than some humans I know! I never heard of Spinocerebellar Ataxia before this video, more needs to be done to raise awareness so we can stop this horrible condition. As they say, prevention is better than a cure, since there is no cure we only have one option!

  • God................you're so lovingly beautiful!!! Love you both already XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  • I love jacks and have one of my own. She is healthy. This video just broke my heart. This condition is progressive and there is no treatment. Eventually, the symptoms reach the point where euthanasia becomes the most humane option. Responsible breeders are doing everything possible to eradicate this terrible condition. It is the backyard breeders and the puppy mills who are in it strictly for the money who are allowing dogs who have the gene for this disease to continue to breed.

  • cute video... it is interesting that animals and humans share certain diseases.

  • There are a number of types of Ataxia. If you Google Jack Russell Terrier Ataxia, you will find out a lot more about the problem. I do believe that it can also have connections with spinal deformities. Katy has cerebral ataxia, wher the part of the brain that contols balance shrinks.
