Recently, the South took a pretty severe beating from numerous tornadoes that sprouted all over the region. Many states have been affected, including my home state, Alabama. It was difficult to watch as the tornadoes tore through parts of Alabama that I know and love and to also know that my friends and family were there at their mercy. Luckily, my friends and family made it out alive, but others were not so lucky. Homes were blown to pieces, businesses leveled, loved ones lost. And recovery is only beginning. Most of you have probably figured out that I write songs to cope. Watching these events unfold on television hundreds of miles from home and seeing the aftermath helped inspire this song, which is ironically called "April Showers", although Wednesday was anything BUT showers.

Normally, I'd hope that you would enjoy the video and the song. But this time it's different. This time, all I ask is that you just listen, watch, and pray.

Thank you.

  • Amongst the rubble - a piano plays… subtle notes, which cry tears; on bent knees, I listen, for the silence - of the wind #poetry

  • Listening, watching, and praying here.

  • we're well familiar with tornadoes in my area but what happened in Alabama was devastating, your piano piece was excellent and touching, there's a big heart in that little girl

  • There`s nothing to comment, the pictures speaks for themselves.
