  • What permanently puzzles me is why, to play traditional music, you need modern synth drones in the background. Surely those weren't around in the 1800's....?? Very advanced, these traditional Native Americans!

  • I have mixed Cherokee and European descent and this is not Cherokee.... but even in publicity for native american music and awareness people think if they dont wear Lakota feather (war) bonnett no one notices them.. i saw this happen in UK with Peruvian musicians wearing this on their head... that is atrocious and sad fact... no one recognizes southeast USA tribes anymore....

  • I can't describe how sad it is that they're all so " domesticated"... Same thing are still taking place with the last Brazilian indiginous peoples, right this minute! It's just a matter of where & when they will all vanish along with they're wisdom & irreaplaceble cultures as well as all the ecossistems! Don't let it happen...............

  • @25252docjohn Lakota is the proper name for what Europeans call the Sioux tribe. Sioux means snake and was what the Lakota's enemies called them and what the whites heared. Its not so nice to call somebody nick names, right? The Lakots lived as nomads on the plains but the Cherokee tribe were mostly into agreculture and farmed the land living in wellbuilt lodges. Did you know that the Cherokees constructed the first Native American Alphabet? You can google for more information.
