This is a new band from Athens. No, not Athens, Ga., Athens, Alabama!
These guys came highly recommended from James Sherrill of Planet Ink and they did not disappoint!
Everyone I spoke to loved this band and the old Muscle Shoals R&B/Soul influences were obvious and acknowledged by the lead singer, Brittany Howard.
Patterson Hood of the Drive-By Truckers was in the audience and talked to the band afterward. At least twice on Saturday he talked about the local music scene and mentioned this band by name. I found out Sunday they are opening three shows for the Truckers.
This was my first attempt at matching my video to the audio source I recorded with my taping rig. Hope it sounds OK.

This was shot with a Kodak PlayTouch pocket HD video camera.
Audio source was Avantone CK-1 microphones and a Fostex FR-2LE digital recorder.
