A special video montage showing Fred Astaire's dancing partners from his films, in chronological order, starting with "Dancing Lady" in 1933 going through "Finian's Rainbow" in 1968. It ends with Mr. Astaire dancing with eight images of himself from his fantastic number in "Blue Skies". Ginger Rogers appears in a montage for their 1930s films and she appears again for "The Barkleys of Broadway" when she did one more film with Mr. Astaire. I did not include other partners more than once (i.e. Cyd Charisse in "Silk Stockings"). However, after many requests I did include Barrie Chase, who happened to make a small appearance with Mr. Astaire in "Silk Stockings".

  • Wonderful....thank you for putting together these memorable moments of entertainment....

  • @alyssumtx So glad that you liked the video! It was a lot of fun making it and very cool to see all the different partners Mr. Astaire danced with in his long career.

  • Wonderful job. It's great to see all the names of his partners from films. I also like the dances you chose. However, Barrie Chase is not identified exactly right in the scene from "Silk Stockings". She is the dark haired dancer, in a gold dress, who is last in line. It's a bit confusing since her normally blond hair is covered with a dark wig. Thank you for the nice compilation.

  • @TheGayDivorcee Thanks so much! I also appreciate the id of Barrie Chase. I found out that she was in this number, but noone said who she was, and I had to guess. I will make an updated versoin of this! Thanks!

  • Wonderful !!!

  • Fred Astaire danced also with Debbie Reynolds in the non-musical film The Pleasure of His Company in 1961. It was not just a ballroom/social dancing scene--there was also one of those--but they inserted a more formal dance into a domestic scene as well.

  • Thank you for this compilation.. I particularly enjoyed Paulette Goddard (Second Chorus) :D

  • Just what I was looking for!! Thanks!!

  • That was amazinggggggg!

  • Absolutely FAB!!!!! Thanks :)
