@beggindogs I feel the very same way with the Baebes. Regardless of the intent of music... the individual's interpretation means a lot as well. As we are in agreement (!) I would love to have more dialogue with you... feel free to contact me on here. I can give you more of my info, if you like. Thanks for the vid, btw. It's great.

The song is not Latin, but Middle English..
Translation:
Merry it is while summer lasts
With the song of the birds
But now draws near the wind's blasts
And harsh weather
Alas, alas! How long the night is!
And I, most unjustly
Sorrow, mourn and fast
A truly lovely piece for a lovely video!

Druid,
what are the words?

sorry to but in but, I believe Mary also is an undercover form of Astaroth/Easter ,Diana (eternal virgin) or Isis . many goddesses are interchangeable and so still applies I think. ^-^

I got the result wiccan on facebook! Which I am ^^
uhm...before i went lauding the MB's as 'pagan' or 'wiccan' music, one might want to learn a bit of latin and middle english and then read some of the lyrics.
not a criticism, i love them and they appeal to me both, but just a reality check here.

@chelanfarsight I realize that this song is about Mary, venerated by catholics as the 'Queen of Heaven', but like many MB songs stands on its own without having to know the meaning of the words. So very many of their songs are perfect backdrops to the images I gather. Also, they do have many works that are pagan in nature, celebrations of nature and magic. Whether singing as angels or sirens, the Baebes music brings me closer to the beauty and wonder of our world...:)
