The most beautiful song that always moves me. I know my pictures don't do it justice but I had to put something on with it.

  • o.o

    Magic.

  • @topofsm I knew that. I was drunk and assumed the quotations would express that. hah. My bad, guys.

  • Sad and beautiful...

  • @meatwadhows Actually it's an Irish poem, look it up on Wikipedia. DCD did an excellent version, I was actually surprised to find that they didn't compose it

  • love it

  • @AineIsUnderTheStairs I hope not.

  • The song is actually meant to be sung from the perspective of a boy, grieving for the love of his life and childhood sweetheart. He remembers a time they were lost in a forest, but they didn't consummate their love even then, waiting to be married, unfortunately.... she died before they could wed. His broken heart prevents him from sleeping in his bed alone, and he find himself weary with life and wanting desperately to be with her again. ; ___ ;

  • This just came on my Pandora shuffle, directly after Gloomy Sunday by Billie Holiday. I get the hint.

  • It's gorgeous to hear the more interesting melody than the Sinead version but too bad Kate messes up the lyrics on the bit where she's talking about what she's doing while her family thinks she's safely in her bed, she sings "from morn until night I am stretched out at your head" but OBVIOUSLY it's "from NIGHT until MORN" - unless her family expects her to stay in bed all day!

  • Check out Iarla O Lionard singing the original Taim Sinte ar do Thuama. Personally it is more moving without the bongos.
