The sub genre of "Anatolitika" or "Oriental" in Greek urban song touches the areas of rebetika, smyrneika and light theatre tunes (epitheorasis). Usually a Greek orientalist view of the "East" of pashas, maharajahs, harems and sultry females, musically it is a melange of east and west with elements of Greek Turkish and Arabic music with often strong Latin influences and a Hollywood feel. These songs, starting with a few examples in the 20s and 30s (Miserlou being one of the early examples - see my Misirlou upload), became very popular in the late 40s and 50s.

  • @papagamias I am deeply sorry for you ..Blaming Turkey is easiest thing to do in the world..The hardest thing is to admit genocides made by England,US,France,Netherland,Germany,Israel so on .However unfortunately, this does not make them vandan, but us :) Also can you admit that if your ancestors were strong enough to my ancestors ,they would comit the same crimes aganist enemies ?? I guess not..But dont worry this does not your or my country fault, this is the fault of humanity

  • @papagamias did a pogrom against turkish greek take place?YES..did EOKA run an ethnic cleansing campaign in cyprus?YES..Did both sides suffered from all these events?YES..Is my best friend a greek from Athens?YES..Am i a muslim greek from pontos?YES..Do i say fuck all the racist and religious fanatics in the world?YES.Has this been a strange way of commenting here?PROBABLY YES

  • @proffubu2006 Of course like the turk you are you will only ridicule the genocides, what else could you do? Not only you ridicule them but you are actually proud of your people having comitted them. Internationaly you refuse them, internally you celebrate them. Typical mongols...

  • @papagamias interesting idea.. Thanks for sharing with us:))))))

  • @proffubu2006 when you are the illiterate you are, you cannot have any argumentation so you will use the usual pill, "racism". Which is quite funny coming from a Turk who is part of the most violent, murderous nations in moder history with the first and biggest series of genocides of the 20th century.

Apologise first for the genocide of 3 million christians in Minor Asia and for the bloody invasion in Cyprus and for the pogrom of Constantinople before coming here to give lessons of humanism.

  • @papagamias

    amen amen amen!
