You can definatly tell they crested the hill. The train really picked up speed once it passed your location.

That is the top of the hill. As the majority of the train passes the depot across from the museum the engineer starts to use his dynamic brakes. A good place to hear this is the ball fields behind Kennesaw Mountain High School.

i'll tell you what, i manged to get ahead of this train 4 times in about 15 miles: emerson, acworth, kennesaw and day. i didnt video at acworth because i got stuck in traffic and didnt have enough time to setup :)

thanks! i was actually walking over to the other side of the tracks but the train beat us there--worked out nice. i have never even noticed the "kennesaw" sign on the civil war/railroad museum before.
