Because Turkey would damage the European Union. It has nothing to do with religion, Turkey is unstable and militarily dangerous.

MEPs are a waste and a propaganda tool. Its a dictatorship. Hitler had a parliament. Stalin had a parliament. Europe has a parliament. All three are a corrupt useless posturing tool.

Oh and i express no support for the BNP, so dont go being smart.

stalin had what?
they had 'parlament', but only important party members. something like house of lords :D
by the other hand any eu citizen can join if he gets enough support from voters. even you and me.
you must always look in to the essence of the problem if you want to find the trought

At least Hitler had a modicum of free enterprise where the EU has set itself up in opposition to it.

Turkey is not in Europe, they have different culture, they will be the country with more population in Europe in some years, millions of immigrants will enter in european countries will enter in E.U countries, you want more?
Anyways this E.U and this politicians will destroy European countries, i agree with a political, economic and military partnership between europeans and not this undemocratic, multicultural and political correct E.U.

as i see it Turkey isnt suited yet to join the EU,as it follows:
1.problems with neighbours still,
2.issues with military interference in political spectrum,
3.they are secular grey at best and not secular as it should, with some islamistic outbursts;here ppl tend to distance themselves from religion or not to bother you in your practice,we dont impose it.
i support Turkey in joining but it will be problematic mainly due to religion which shouldnt matter.
hey,doesnt matter to me,i'm atheist!

yes i agree with you,
i think that turkey must first:
1. solve the problem with ciper
2. recognize genocide on armenians
3. give kurds autonomy and equal rights as dominant nation
4. establish political (common) control over the army
5. stop interventing in iraq territory

The US pledge of allegiance clearly states that the US is a republic. Republic being the term to distinguish the US from a state lead by a monarchy. If you look to use the term, federation, this is incorrect. The closest correct comparison is a Union (a Union of states).
