Tavofono

Tavofono consists of a long table with buttons on the surface, sections of audio can be recorded into different buttons and then played back during a telephone call.

Tavofono was originally constructed for the exhibition "Death in Venice. A story must tell itself" at the Telecom Italia Future Center in Venice. We wanted to support one of the unique ways hat children use the telephone to make prank callls: using Tavofono there is no danger of laughing during the call and giving yourself away to the victim, also the prankster can adopt the voice of anyone who has recorded their words on the table.
