Predator - Amstrad CPC

Arnie, i want my £18 allowance back!! Loved the movie tho and the game is quite faithfull to the movie, as you can recognise the plot and even hide in the mud. Sadly its a VERY short game with perhaps 5-6 mins of actual gameplay in it. I remember being a little sad when i finished the game the same day i bought it. Why this game even have a 30 min countdown is beyond me. You can also perform moves like duck, jump and block .. probably to hide how little game there actually is. Last half of the game you drop your gun to be able to fight the alien because if you have a weapon equiped he will lazer you to death. Then the alien becomes a complete woos that can barely hit you. Better also get rid of your grenades as you dont want to accidentally hit the alien with a couple. So you just run and run and run until you get to the nice treetrunk bit. This version of the game seem to have a slight graphical glitch as i dont recall the original had any. This game really had so much potential tho.

Thanks for the video! You're right, the game had much potential - nice touches like the infra-red vision of the Predator, dropping your weapons to fight him, ability to cover yourself in mud and killing him like in the movie...

Shame this wasn't expanded more and the actual fighting against the enemy soldiers is so atrocious!! All you can do is run along the top or bottom of the screen firing wildly!!

Yeah, a bit sad really. I like the bit where you can pick up the other soldiers weapons and it would have been really cool if the weapons had been different from each other (like rapid shots/dual/triple/grenade). As it is now all the weapons shoot the same, even Billys knife lol. The aliens frisbee-weapon is also there on the ground at the mud .. alas you cant pick it up.

used to get about 30 seconds into the game an then die(killed by the unstopable triangle)then have to load it all again !!!

I paid full price for this at the time. A shame when compared to the likes of Gryzor. Most Arnie film conversions were average tho.
