Cathy and Joe - I See You

Local couple who hoped to become a New Orleans version of Paul and Paula. Obviously you're hearing this for the 1st time unless you are old as dirt and from New Orleans. But if you're that old, then there's a 50 50 chance the brain cells that filed this memory away are the brain cells that died a few years ago. Ain't life a crap or what?

One piece of trivia. Joe Wegman was blind. How ironic the title of this song, "I See You". Joe died in 1997 from a brain tumor.

Thank God I was fortunate enough to know Joe and Cathy Joe passed away several years ago and Cathy is in failing health now.

Joe was blind from birth but studied piano and worked for TAC Amusement for many years.

He graduated from DLSalle H S. and was self sufficient! A beautiful human being. Love you Joe and best wishes to Cathy. Thanks for the memory!

@imnotaknowitall Thanks for all the information. Sorry to hear about the passing of Joe and Cathy's state of health. This song was about as regional as it could get but both sides got lots of requests to the local stations back then and was very popular. I recall they made a few appearances on John Pela's Saturday Hop.

I am Cathy's daughter and I am sorry to say that she passed away on September 17th of this past year from Uterine Papillary Serous Cancer..It had metastasized to her brain in her final weeks.. She died peacefully, with her sweet husband by her side..She still looked as beautiful at the age of 69 as she did when she was younger.. She barely had ANY wrinkles.. I bragged quite often on her skin..
