Trucks moving goods on the 710 freeway now travel 24 miles from the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports to downtown rail yards. We can reduce that to just 4 miles.
BNSF has proposed a plan to load freight onto rail closer to the Ports, shortening truck trips and connecting Southern California to good jobs, less traffic and cleaner air. The answer is the Southern California International Gateway, also known as SCIG.
