  • thanks for posting this, i also have a hfs100 and cant figure out how to get the manual focus to be faster between a close subject and a far away subject, with your video it seems like it happens really fast, when i try it takes forever wheeling the manual focus wheel until it focuses, any ideas for me, thanks

  • @ryanptitmas The trick is to position your finger so that you can focus in and out to the degree that you want in one swipe. It doesn't need to be wheeled a bunch, but needs a very forceful timed wheel, starting maybe behind the first knuckle of your finger and ending at the tip. It does get easier to do as you get used to the method, but, at least for me, is still a pain. I hope this helps.

  • What do you think about the manual focus?

  • I am really impressed with its quality in consideration of the price. My only complaint would be that it utilizes a roller-nob rather than say a ring or a slider to change the focus. We're trying to rig up an attachment to the nob for a slider that could be marked and moved easier. The remote can be used to change the focus manually and does the job pretty well. Im just more of a hands on person.

  • Aperture f2.0 yeah?

  • I want the BEST quality camcorder I can get for less then $1000 (that I could possibly get on eBay around or less than $500). I was thinking Sony HDR-CX700V Camcorder , or HDR-PJ10 by Sony...I really am just interested in video quality. I will usually have good lighting etc. I also need it to be reasonably simple to use (not the most techy person). It also needs to be easy to upload and edit on iMovie'11 and Final Cut Pro. Any suggestions? Thank you :)!

  • how are you doing that?

  • @atackett8---- thanks for the advice, i will give it a try, but still very nicely done on your part, the video example is awesome

  • @MisssLadyRose I actually haven't, Its worked great and is surprisingly easy to use. I import my footage to a mac using iMovie and haven't had any compatibility issues. The resolution and lens are amazing.

  • Manufacturers are so dumb - yeah, let's double the resolution - then let's double the effort it takes to focus on anything - brilliant
