Keith Whitley - Homecoming `63 (WITH LYRICS), From The Album L.A. To Miami 1985

Homecoming '63
I was so proud you went with me
Everyone turned their head when we walked in
They said look at that perfect pair
as you blushed from all their stares
and my chest swelled up with pride
grinning from ear to ear inside
an hour full of dance and fun
an hour later and I gunned
my '57 off to heaven
back seat lovin' girl you were somethin'

CHORUS
Home coming '63
You went home with the love you gave to me
You turned me on to extasy
Homecoming '63

What a night that was for us
I remember plain as day the touch
I felt when I felt your love melt in my arms
and that old and pleated back seat bed
I pleaded with you and instead of the usual no
you said yes you let go

repeat chorus

  • @countrygirljune1974 crazy there fucking ideots

  • How can 3 people NOT like this???? Must be crazy people!!

  • @lno71 AMEN to that. I'm a proud Kentucky native, just like Keith. Kentucky has got some of the best talent in country music!!!

  • @lno71 Thanks for recognizing the other musicians, but even beyond them was an arranger, the 'architect' of the entire package. My top music hero is a man who arranged top hits in the late 1950s for Johnny Mathis, Don Cherry, Guy Mitchell, & Marty Robbins. That arranger was Ray Conniff, who would record over 1200 songs of his own, combining swing & jazz and human voices sounding like instruments. Hope you might check out my 550 playlists of the best music on earth. There's one for Keith. Chuck

  • True, Garth, George and Merle got it good, but, Keith got it great!!!

  • Jesse Keith hit #9 in Billboard, 2-14-87. God bless! RIP, Keith.

  • My dad's favorite song. I've known it by heart since I was a little girl and we've all but worn out his Keith Whitley albums.
