Wow.... that Poleri tenor is imprinted on my internal CD... those long long hours of scales he put in at the piano - and 2 or 3 bars - over and over and over.... - he worked so hard! .... and he did soar.

There is a video of Poleri and Price doing "Tosca" at the National Museum of Television in NYC - would love to get a copy of it!

Well it was lovely to hear the young Price before she became a Superstar, not to mention Forrester and Tozzi. Even though YouTube limits postings to 10 minutes in duration, I was a bit disappointed to hear this 4th movement chopped up as it is here, As courtesy to listeners, you have, at a minimum, the obligation to tell listeners that the clip has been considerably edited. Otherwise thank you for the posting,

great; Tozzi was a great Bass too.

When this recording was first released, I carried it around with me everywhere I went. It is now available on CD.
All you guys should get her Beethoven's Missa Solemnis with Karajan. Price is unbelievable. Sheer, radiant beauty. Also, her Met performances of her dream Donna Anna in the complete Don Giovanni and her Ballo in Maschera are on CD. Also available on CD are her San Francisco Opera performances of Manon Lescaut and Dialogues of the Carmelites. Both chill bump performances.
Simply masterful, Onegin. Easily the highlight of my day

I love when she sings like this, shimmering lyric, with nuance...and as she would say "on the interest - not the capital". P.S. That photo of her and Marian Anderson...Priceless!! I wonder what was going through her mind at that time.
