http://www.blackhawk.edu - Industrial Engineering Technicians work on problems involving the efficient use of personnel, materials, and machines in the production of goods and service. They are employed in a variety of businesses and industries, including the manufacture of goods and equipment of all kinds, food processing, health care facilities, and many others.
Industrial Engineering Technicians use the principles of science, engineering, and mathematics to solve problems in quality control, research and development, manufacturing, sales, construction, and customer service. Many Industrial Engineering Technicians directly assist engineers and scientists, while others work more independently in production and inspection-related jobs. Their jobs are more practically oriented than those of scientists and engineers, and typically involve dealing with both the human and technical aspects of the workplace.
I was wondering why did the first person in this video said that this is basically a two engineering program? There is a very big difference between an engineer and a technician. This program is a "Technology" program not a engineering program. Engineering is far more theory and focuses more on concept designs while technicians convert the designs of an Engineer to reality. Technicians also trouble shoot, test and repair equipment while Engineers don't. Technicians also assist engineers.
