this always makes me think of the joker because he can use this as fear

@robobabex I agree entirely : ) With all the negativity people can spread on the internet, and all the fakeness people dub as good, it's only fair that genuine friendliness and support has a chance too! : ) You've got a good mindset.
And mehhh, to be fair I did get scared as a kid by this salamander, so that might count. Lift up this rock once to see what was under it (this was in the south US during summer so luckily it wasn't a snake), and it jumped out all big and slimy.

@OushGisher Oh, no I didnt think you were. :) I like to believe that its possible to have a nice friendly debate on the internet every once in a while lol
I'm also irrationally afraid of lizards. If I come across one I will literally haul ass outta there like a bat out of hell. It's just about as bad as the clowns. lol
and I dont think I've ever met anyone else afraid of lizards xD

@robobabex Btw, I hope you don't feel that I'm actually *making fun* of your phobia; I just study psychology, so I'm obsessed with introspection. I'm irrationally afraid of sharks and deep water!

@robobabex That's very true and I can see why... but wouldn't you think that a woman with THIS strong of reactions to seeing a clown on a book has more than a fear of the unknown? It seriously seems like she associates the face of a clown itself with something dangerous; it and the disguise seem to be what gives her this intense reaction. After a certain point, it's no longer the fear of the unknown, but associating clowns with creepy circuses and killers and such... Hollywood loves that : /

@OushGisher You make a good point, but I think there's more to it than that. I'm absolutely terrified of clowns, and pretty much anything that wears a mask. Yes, IT and other clown movies are extremely creepy, but they're not the main reason they scare me. For me, personally, i just don't like the fact that I don't know who they are behind their mask. So, i guess that kind of stems off of a fear of the unknown. (which is actually reasonable anywhere you go.)

@Jauckor 'Where such films aren't big'

@OushGisher Im from Peru, I fear clowns and Im not a retard.

@OushGisher Yeah, but they also think you're insane if you talk to animals (which most Americans and Western people in general do). Fear of clowns possibly translates as fear of "insanity" or "chaos" depending on individual interpretation. On the other hand, the reasoning could be more concrete (rational rather than irrational). If that's the case, then the fear is probably based on the assumption that all clowns are baby-eating serial rapists that eat peoples' brains.

Overcoming a fear of clowns by becoming one? That pretty much sums up my story. :P This was great. I love the laugh.
