The Owner's kid saw something in him.

Free thinkers in the company honestly wanted to beat him senseless. He polarized the rank and file / mid-level managers (who know a hustle), against senior management.

He had us all chasing our tails "Community Building" instead of doing what we were paid to do (and most of us enjoyed doing). It was the most incredible and destructive thing I've ever witnessed.
