  • I think you're aiming at the wrong target. Climate Change is a legitimate concern that must be addressed. Swapping food for fuel is an inappropriate response, since it just shifts the problem. The real solutions lie in a change in our lifestyle expectations. The environmental recognizes this and (most of us) don't support the food for fuel swap for just this reason.

And this does not even mention that food production may shift or decline as Climate Change advances.

  • Checkout the video series- Long Term food storage on Youtube and stock up NOW!

  • One report stated that the amount of corn needed to produce (1) one tankfull of gas for the average vehicle could feed a person for a year. When you look at it in this manner, environmentalist are well-intentioned, but lack the fundamental understanding of economics. That is why I loathe environmental causes and people who perpetuate their unfounded predictions for the future of mankind.

  • The main culprit in the food debacle is the environmental crowd. The media and the environmentalist partnering up to promote global warming have caused the prices of all food products to rise dramatically. Biofuels are taking corn and wheat from our tables causing a rising demand for these staples. Add to this, the need to feed livestock with corn, grains, etc and we have farmers paying more for the feed which translates to higher prices.

  • Buy and store wheat, beans, rice, and other basics. I grind my own flour and bake my own bread. I'm learning to eat very healthy and very cheap! I own a condo but I have room for a deck garden so I'm making one. I have a few awkwardly filmed videos posted on my efforts to prepare for what I see as an economic depression and the shortages of everything that I expect to see sometime soon. Buckle up everyone! We're about to enter "interesting times".
