Silly, silly. Never met a fly fishing elitist in 35 years of fy fishing. I've fished with the high and mighty, and the most regular of guys, like me. I know people who prefer fly fishing to anything else, and the sport has lots of achievements to be proud of. People who think they are better because of the rod or bow they use, normally are beginners, who hope that just buying a particular product will alone make them something special. The real innovators are too busy for that crap.

ive a lot of respect for what tred has done i hope he recovers his health i love all fishin methods but my favourite way to catch them is on the fly so i respectfully disagree with him on this

i loved his long bow goose trad bowhunting on the wing!

Tred is great and his 2009 story pulls at the heart strings. But throwing away his fly kit, suggests he can't catch fish unless a guide is setting the hook....

He's right in saying that the fly rod is just another tool to catch fish. Unfortunately you are going to deal with assholes in any area of fishing, whether they think they are better than you or you have no right to be in their "spot". I enjoy fly fishing for bream and small bass here in Louisiana but will not fly fish in arkansas because the fly fisherman on that particular river are, there's no other way to put it, assholes. They want to make it fly fishing only.

I fly fish because I enjoy it, not because I think it is more "elite". I just like catching fish on flies that I tied myself. It is satisfying. I still use other methods of fishing but just enjoy fly fishing more. Treds view on fly fishing is fucking retarded. He sits on his ass and trolls the ocean.... wow sounds like a lot of fun. NOT. I can't believe he thinks all fly fisherman are "elitist". I enjoy his videos but his opinion on this is stupid.
