how come no one every tries to use shale for the break?

Shale is not on the list of options when you're choosing who is attempting the breakout.

Incidentally, she also can't come along for the part that gets the Warden captured in the first place, since she can't wear a disguise like everyone else.

i had to kill zeveran because he thought if he tried a second time in denerim hed kill me he was right twice the 3rd not so much :( how do i prevent that

You need to get his approval rating quite high before you reach that scene. Give him lots of gifts (leather and precious metals), and be nice and respectful to him when you talk to him.

That's right, you have to pick the option "wait for help." Then, you and Alistair will muse about the likelihood of who might come to save you.

You'll get to say, as a joke and I'm paraphrasing, "insert companion here will come for us," and then "insert another companion here will come for us."

Except your joke will turn out to be real and the companions you think of will be the ones mounting the rescue effort.

@DarkGem2 awww.. bioware phailed in dlc :( wouldv been to epic to have shale get carried in as a statue for the commander or sumthin right ^^ and then shes just like *crack* it would like to know where you keep the warden *crushes commanders neck with 2 fingers :P*
