Barak Obama commits US Troops (the majority portion of Nato) to a clumsy and poorly executed "Kinetic Military Action" in Libya. All indications are its to protect European Oil interests. This despite the barrage of outrageous allegations of war for oil levied at the previous administration. This despite the fact that Libya has not been a threat to the United States and has made no gesture of hostility toward us, and worse this despite the fact that the rebellion contains elements of terrorist organizations... And where exactly is the anti-war crowd? No where. Guess its okay if Democrats take us into needless wars, just not Republicans. So much for principals.
@SeraphimTheApologist Sweet! Now indluge me a moment while I put forward the suggestion the same sort of profitability would manifest itself is Social Security were at least partially privatized. What do you think?

@SeraphimTheApologist "I presume it went well?"
yes, the companies are going to post a profit, communications have gone through the roof because satellites are being launched at an alarming rate, and space travel has entered the commercial endeavor.

@omiolo I hadn't heard anything about that... I presume it went well?

@SeraphimTheApologist "If NASA was in private hand"
Yeah, look what happened since they allowed the privatization of rockets.

@omiolo If NASA was in private hands we'd have been on Mars ten years ago and starting to colonize it already. :)

@SeraphimTheApologist "Personally I'd prefer spending cuts"
me too. I would like to see NASA sold too but an increase in science and engineering research spending. I would also like to see the gov't enforce the anti-monopoly rules. I would also like to see some effective legislation on health care, including increasing dramatically the number of health care insurers.

@omiolo Agreed. I am working on that subject next and we do not let the Republicans off the hook at all on this issue. They failed us big time. Personally I'd prefer spending cuts. The government is the king of wasteful spending...

@SeraphimTheApologist Like this recent budget cuts. What a joke. We increase the deficit $56 billion and then cut it $34 billion and then want an increase in the deficit spending?
Who are we USSR take 2?
Stop with the debt, either raise taxes or cut spending.

@omiolo I totally agree. That's why I get so upset with people in my party who refuse to stand on principal. We need principaled people left and right who are willing to make the hard decisions and aren't afraid to say "no."

The right did the same thing when Bush declared during his election that he wasn't going to use military troops to police the world. The right was sick of the military being used as police forces instead of military forces. Then look what he did.
that Screwy Louie Farrakan quote was great.
