This is one of the fundamental flaws in the "Locust Swarm" style of Corporate culture. They get extremely high short term gains, but lose all the wealth and stability they could've made long term on a healthy economy. And really, where can the super rich go after everything goes to hell, outer space?
Same with their totalitarian and fascist laws they implement out of fear of the population. What good is controlling a country if you can't even set foot on 99% of it and have to live in isolation?
