To say Elvis "crushed" Perry Como's carreer is just ridiculous! They had two totally different audiences. Como was a favorite till he died. They were apples and oranges.

I don't think there could be a less interesting "musician". And the marimba...oy. There was a lot of cool stuff happening in the 50's/60's musically, and this guy was that antithesis to all of that.

where do you get this stuff from? Elvis and Perry appealed to two entirely different audiences. Elvis had no effect on Como's career.

In late 50's, in most parts of USA, I believe, Italian and Jewishcrooners, and mild jazz siners, such as Vic Damone, Mel Torme, Steve Lawrence, Perry Como, and even Sinatra, were aired in the same radio shows with elvis, Frankie Avalon, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and so on. This may not have been true in Dixie, or in the breadbasket, I don't know, but it was true in the East Coast megalopolis.

Not only the same radio shows, but their sons were competin for position on the same charts.

while this aired as number 1 on the list, elvis came on TV crushing this dudes career. of course this dude hated elvis

elvis completely destroyed his career, not only did elvis sing great but elvis moved. nice song though. i like the dings (:
