The Peace Video "VOte Peace" was put together by Azoska Simeone as an educational material. It is in circulation to reach as many people as possible by the Peace Secretariat at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Prepared and psychometrically tuned, the video has been played at several public functions and football matches of International repute to sensitise people on the need for peace at all cost.
It assembles the most heartouching pictures taken by various artists and news agencies that were available on the internet and any other news media who still have their respective original rights and the makers of the slides have disclaimed appropriately.
The idea is that even though the news behind the pictures are past, they are as relevant to the world today as when those events actually took place. Hoping that by seeing these pictures in sliding motion, people would be interested in also researcing on some of these news items to educate themselves and others on Violence and the need to uphold non violence.
Ghanaians have been urged to watch these pictures and to forward it to as many the populace as possible especially when Ghana is going to the polls in 2008.
Elections have been known in Africa as potential sources of escalated conflicts and war and Ghana cannot afford to make a mistake already made by many of its neighbours.
It is clear that Ghana is also poised to continue its credible record of peaceful transitions of political power and that means the people will need to be educated on the consequences of shifting from their most applauded principles ,that is justice, forgiveness, onneness and non violence.
