The point of Half-Minute Knight is to protect the sage for 30 seconds as it takes him that amount of time to prepare the spell that would wipe out all the enemies in each episode. (The illustrations make it look like a (pretty) guy, okay? if you've already finished the game, please don't go spoiling the identity of the sage. :P). The catch is that the sage will only chant if he's not in motion and with his feet touching the ground so, obviously, the knight can't be dragging or lifting him around. What's more, if anything touches him, his little "life bar" will go down and time will reset a bit.
You have traps that you can build at the camp menu before starting an episode (but sacrificing HP and SP in the process because you get less sleep ^^~) as well as various rocks, tree branches, broken swords, etc. lying around the map that can be used to fend off monsters. There's also a special sword that's hidden on every stage which, I think, doesn't break. It's particularly useful in the stage with a billion knights cuz it allows you to kill them and not just knock them senseless like usual.

- I'm not playing for a good score. I just vidcapped the first six stages to show what the game is actually like. :P (The demo was too boring, IMO.)
- I left the recording go for a bit at the difficulty selection screen because I wanted to capture the Goddess of Time flying by. XD Speaking of which, she never appears in Half-Minute Knight.
- IIRC, when you start Half-Minute Knight the very first time, you will see the logo and also have a little intro scene.
- The Knight's SP and HP are higher than what you actually start off with if you were to play from scratch. This is because, well, I've played Half-Minute Knight a billion times already.
- All the traps are maxed out which mean they last longer, have greater effect, etc. Level 1 traps are useless and typically won't work very well against enemies.
- When you begin playing the game for the first time, you won't be able to carry so many traps. (Yeah, I maxed out on inventory/trap-carrying space too. ^^)
- This video would be a lot shorter if I didn't sit through a lot of the dialogue at the start of each episode. Would have been even worse if I let the sage go on about the explanations and such.
- Later stages can be a bit more complicated than what you see here so don't think all of Half-Minute Knight is this simple!
Random commentary about the gameplay:

Episode 1: I was just being totally stupid and sending the knight at the enemies! XD
Episode 2: There's actually an evil tree wandering around at the right side. If you go near it, it'll spew giant seeds(?) at you. :/
Episode 4: Griard's not very intimidating when it's so easy to avoid him. :P In later episodes, there are more monsters or obstacles to deal with making it harder to keep the sage away from him.
Episode 5: Bullood's slow but his punch is deadly! If either the knight or sage get in the way of his fist, they will instantly die. :\ The fastest way to clear this stage is to make sure you have traps like the fence. Drop the sage off on the white tiles and strategically put the traps up to hold back the enemy! That's actually how I got the 17'13 clear time but I just went goofy this time around. XD
Episode 6: I like the music in this episode~! :D Otherwise, it's a completely laughable stage. (Go me smashing into an enemy. 9__9) Although the giant dino enemies are fairly quick, they can't get it between the columns. Bullood actually has the same problem in episode 5 if you make use of the tiny little area at the bottom of the screen.
