The whole ride in fact is largely under supported

nice. only nit-pick is a little too much supporting on the overbank.

I see, I thought the issue was the height of the structure. Might a ride with a combination of wood and steel supports work?

The speed combined with the weight of the trains would just be too powerful for a wooden coaster....look how rough Son of Beast has become.

What if you had really big hills? Couldn't you make a wooden Giga coaster which stayed relatively close to the ground?

That is excellent. Well supported, smooth, and most importantly, an original and awesome layout. Lots of the Giga coasters made on NL are just ripoffs of MF, but this is great.
