  • I hate this video. it really trivializes the song. Not that you have to read too much into the song, but responding with fashion just because of the lyric " and what costume shall the poor girl wear to all tomorrows parties..." is cheap.

  • one of the greatest songs ever. video is awful, the velvets need nothing but a black hole to stare into while listening.

  • Love it!

  • @creamstripe I like the juxtaposition of the happy models in pretty clothes with the sadness of the song. What kind of video do you think should accompany it? Some girl with mascara running down her face, running through an alley way?

  • Stuck up snobs, the bunch of you. Fashion is an art form. Like music, painting, theatre, literature, It's hard for some people to get it . Open your minds a bit. you elitists.

  • One of the best VU songs

  • @jonmoontrip Whatever. Fashion is trivial and mundane. Fashion models are probably trivial and mundane, too. I can't really say anything though because I've never met a model. Lou Reed's lyrics are as profound and deep as the universe.

  • I love this vid. uptight people who "know" things are so pathetic! "What costume shall the poor girl wear?" As a poor girl model- I really dig these prints- and put to my favorite song - the one that always brings tears- esp. with a bottle of vodka - in a San Francisco misty tuesday .... and remembering the sadness of me and my friends being exploited - as if we were inadament ..... I think that's right ... inadement? .... Now - I watch from the seat. A beautiful tradgedy!

  • Like Nick caves cover!

  • @ieatapples123 my thoughts exactly, if not in satire, then the video is a complete insult to the song's intention.
