I understand where your comming from, but even as an American I tip my hat to him (though I don't ride his Dick). He was a respectable general by WW2 standards. Not every German officer was a Nazi, though. Remember stauffberg?

I am very proud to be a German.
Just because one crazy gunman Germany will never be as you said.
I do not think you know ANYthing about history, so if you do not know the facts simply SHUT UP.
That is right. Rommelwanted to open the Normandy Defense Line and promised the Resistance to help them if there is an new government. When Hitler found out that...Rommel had to die
Rest in Peace, Rommel!

Gen. Rommel was visited in his home in ULM by emissaries from Berlin, Genls Maisel and Burgdorf, who under Fuehrerbefehl (Hitler's personal order), presented him with the trumped up charge of treason (Verraet). Then they made him an offer he couldn't refuse----die in humiliation with family endangered at best, or commit painless suicide with family safe and hero's funeral.. Hope I would have been as brave as Rommel.

I heard he was forced to kill himself because he knew about an attempted assassination against Hitler, don't know if it's true though.
