Camper Van Beethoven
(I Was Born In A) Laundromat
(Key Lime Pie, 1989)

Down here on the north side
[ ? ]
Down here on the river [ ? ]
I got sand in my shoes
It's hotter than asphalt
It's hotter than pistols
I'm as bent as a crowbar
We all want some release
Just like the queen of the trailer park
Sometimes she's the queen of the water, of the river
Down here on the tracks
We're the kings of the trash
I was born in a laundromat
I was born in a cul-de-sac
Some of us are brown
And some of us are white
Just give me some tension release
Just give me some tension release
Just like the queen of the trailer park
Sometimes she's the queen of the water, of the river
Down here on the tracks
We're the kings of the trash
She's the queen of the primo
She's the queen of the bondo
And I was born in a laundromat
I was born in a cul-de-sac
Just give me some tension release
Just give me some tension release
Just like the queen of the trailer park
Sometimes she's the queen of the water, of the river

  • the guitar sounds on this whole album are mindblowing.

  • @snubcube22 agreed.

  • Great song and album! The opening riff is similar to that found in a famous nirvana tune from a few years later.

  • @timeflow which?

  • "I was born in a culdesac"

  • I'm as bent as a crowbar....ah...thanks man!!!!

  • Hell, yeah. CVB one of the best bands. I should know. LOL. Never miss a show!! San Francisco for ever!!! (And Santa Cruz!!!!!) And Arcata, of course, and Eureka, and Ukiah, and Willits, and....thats all.

  • i actually prefer the alt mix- the guitar leads that peek through are louder & the end kicks way more. and yes, the production is awesome
