Im sorry but debating who is better is absolutely stupid, they are 2 players, in 2 completely different positions. Martyn Williams is a specialist 7, not a number 8 and vice versa. You wouldnt compare Shane Williams to Richie McCaw, because they are both there to do very different jobs, and do them well.

all 3 of you are wrong...both completely different players. Williams is of the Neil back class that no one gets passed him and he is a master of slowing the ball down and heaslip is a big powerful running rugby player.

people say heaslip is a better player because he is more of an attacking player who you see making more impact carries of the ball, where as williams is a masterclass at the breakdown, therefore more defensively, and uses his head rather than bulk. two completely different players, therefore it's unfair to say who's better. It's like asking, who's better? winger Shane Williams or prop Adam Jones? Impossible to answer
