Western Province has the highest number of presidential aspirants and most probably the highest number of potential running mates in the Kibaki succession. And it is not yet clear whether the senior most Luhya politician in the current government Musalia Mudavadi will remain running mate to Prime Minister Raila Odinga or will be a presidential candidate on his own. There is also the Moses Wetangula and Eugene Wamalwa factor. In our countdown 2012 series we analyse the place of Western in the Kibaki succession.

What RO simply means by saying he is a luyha is that: his running mate will not be luyha! why? cz he is luyha already! and luyha's from is premise cannot have both the presidency and deputy presidency!
