  • Hey Simon,

i'm so glad you liked the "Dunkel Hefe Weizen" from St. Georgen Brewery!

It's a Hefe Weizen with yeast on the bottom of the bottle but with a little darker and deeper flavor.... the dark Hefe's aren't just as "malty sweet" and "lemony" as the light colored ones.... it's up to taste!

This is one of my favorite dark Hefe Weizens.... and i love the label!

    Joe from Germany

  • @JoeHell67 Joe this was superb, a total thirst quencher loved it, yes I liked the label too, I wish we could get this regulary here its a great beer, cheers

  • love your enthusiasm Simon :-)

  • @Tianjoja Yeah this was lovely, fancy doing a Skype review soon? Cheers

  • This is called a Dunkelweizen, and is the darker cousin to the Hefe Weizen.

  • @TheMasterOfHoppets Ah thanks for that Peter, cheers. Oh while im here I have been having problems with watching Youtube video's, I can only watch from the channel page!! • @realaleguide Yeah, that would be great Simon. I recently downloaded that program Peter told me about.... I just have to set it up. Have to find a good beer that neither of us have had to review together.

  • Disturbing the yeast in something like a Hefeweizen or in this case a Dunkelweizen isn't really a bad thing. It actually helps if the beer isn't cloudy enough. I haven't had a true Dunkelweizen but Victory Brewing here in Pennsylvania (not sure if youve heard of them) does a Weizenbock and it is just an excellent beer.
