Tom Bradfield started sanding guitar bodies in the wood shop, moved up to an inspector role and became a final adjuster from 1965 to 1980. Bradfield has worked with several major recording artists, including Peter Frampton, Charlie Daniels, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, The Who and Eric Clapton, among others. He is also one of the few men to touch legendary bluesman B.B. King's guitar "Lucille." Bradfield, who still repairs guitars at his home in Portage, said he's worked on Lucille at last a dozen times since 1975. When King would play in Kalamazoo, Bradfield would tend to Lucille. He last set up Lucille in 2002 when King played the State Theatre in Kalamazoo. Video by Mark Bugnaski / Kalamazoo Gazette Mlive

Tommy, you are far too modest. Tom has worked on my guitars for many years and he treats each guitar like a baby. Gentle soul and just a great friend.

That was great. I wonder if he ever worked on Chuck Berry's ES-355's, ES-345's OR ES-335's?
