Oh my god. This is probably the most telling thing I've ever seen.

Nothing has changed in the last fifty years which is why we're where we are today!
"Those who ignore history are condemned to repeat it."
-
@6funswede The line "to the shores of Tripoli" is actually from the Halls of Montezuma, a traditional USMC song [even more uncanny].

Guess nothing´s changed....
Still so many years later a Perfect comment on how we " The Western-world " " Solves any problem..:(

Thank you Thomas Jefferson. That is, for the Marines.
And an even bigger thank you Tom Lehrer, for making this funny song.

Ah, Tom Lehrer. Still amazing as ever.
My family, and myself, are huge fans of Tom's catchy and humorous songs. It's good to find videos of his performances so that I may share them with my friends and see if I can make them loyal fans.

@fallenraw, thank you so much for your comment. Of course I want people to share the links to Lehrer´s TV-performance from 1967. Visit the channel page for "6funswede" and check out "previews" in the channel description. You will find the link to the 480P versions, and that´s a link you should all share :-)

@Saiaton, yes, true. How about the line "to the shores of Tripoli"? Email a link for this song to your friends and enemies, just to cheer them up :-)

@mabarry3, thanks! I visited your channel to see where you're from and it seems that you are an American. Some of your fellow countrymen don't have your sense of humor, and a lot of people believe that this song is unpatriotic. But I think that this is one of the funniest satirical songs of all time, and it certainly has more than one element (!) of truth in it :-)
