  • @gally50 I always believed that this was a touchy subject and I try to stay away from these debates, but keeping animals is a sensitive process. Some times its not so much the quantity of space as it is the quality of space. These animals do require much larger but shallow tanks, take it from some one who has seen these guys in the wild. Their needs in captivity are different from their needs in the wild. I think this isnt so much a subject of morality, but more of preference which varies.

  • 1 person killed almost 5 belugas ):

  • @Orcafriend I do read the bible occasionally. I do not regard it to be at the cutting edge of animal behavior or marine biology though. Perhaps you as a "marine animal educator" disagree. You believe that a 30ft deep tank is not shallow for Beluga whales which can dive to 2000ft. You also believe you can circumvent millions of years of evolution by feeding wild cetaceans dead fish & teaching them tricks whilst keeping them in a confined space can match the stimulation they get in the wild. WOW

  • @gally50 " For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of creatures in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed of mankind" James 3:7 read the bible every once in a blue and yes im a happy and content person I love my job working as an marine animal educator and im happy with my life.you need to open your eyes. Their well fed, taken care of and kept stimulated. yea sure some dive for food but if their food is given to them why the need to dive? well I guess that makes you WRONG!

  • @Orcafriend Once more, Thank you for your insults, what a happy & content person you must be. Indeed not all whales dive to 1000ft, some dive deeper, and the whales at SW live their entire lives in a pathetic tank which is a mere 30ft deep at its deepest. Now, you believe that this is not shallow for Beluga. how can you expect anyone to take you seriously when you are so full of ignorance, insults & misunderstanding?

  • PETA not pets. but whatever.. TROLL

  • @gally50 not all whales dive to 1000ft all the time but well you think your right you never stop to think if a few years there wont be anymore left in the wild cause of their loss of habitat their endangered, and also noise pollution. But no you anti caps think your all right when aquariums are trying to help those and expose people to these animals. Go whine to your mom about it. Cause ive been at both end of the fight THE PRO'S ARE RIGHT. PETS IS WRONG!

  • @Orcafriend Thank you for your insults, how very mature & unpredictable. You stated that...."the tank in SWT is actualy 30ft deep . Shallow it is not"... I will try in vain to explain to you that 30 ft is shallow for a Beluga . Beluga typically feed at depths of 1000 feet (300m) they can dive to 2000 feet (600m). therefore the 30 ft deep SW tank only represents 0.015% of the depth that they can dive. So "shallow it is not" is mis-information & ignorant in the extreme my friend.

  • @gally50 Seaworlds pools vary in depth some areas are shallow and some deep some belugas do go to shallow areas, the tank in SWT is actualy 30ft deep . Shallow it is not

  • @gally50 and dieing from high pollution and starving and losing their calves and habitat and such. hence why their endangered idiot. Their not captured most are rescued and some are born theire dont confuse seaworld with Marineland canada. they get their orcas from russia. Seaworld gets animals either born or rescued. Research before adding MIS-information
