Falcon 4.0 BMS - OMG First Landing!

Falcon 4.0 with the BMS mod is the most advanced and realistic consumer jet fighter sim available. The game was released in 1998 (by MicroProse) - an era when flight sim fans demanded faithful, complex and realistic simulations. Up to this day it has no equal in terms of depth of its flight model/mechanics.

This game takes time and practice to learn. Its basic manual consists of 900+ pages and in addition, the BMS mod adds related technical manuals. But the sense of satisfaction gained when you finally begin to get to grips with aspects of the game is really great.

This video shows my very FIRST successful landing while following Training Mission 9 of the manual. I know it's a terrible landing but the sense of satisfaction when my F16 landed (without exploding) was epic. So I thought I'd share.

If anyone is considering getting this sim, I 100% recommend you do so! But be sure to install the BMS 4.32 mod by BenchMark Simulations (it's free) as it updates the original game with tons of new features - including enhanced graphics and an even more realistic flight model. Just don't expect to learn the game over-night...it's not HAWX.

That was a terrible landing, you damn near took out the lights and landed in the over run. If I were your commander Id have pulled your wings lol. But the game looks good. I wish DCS would make a viper though.

hehe, I know but I've improved a little since. It's actually the first flight-sim I've ever played so starting with Falcon 4.0 has been a real challenge for me. But that's just the way I like it ;-) DCS looks awesome (great gfx) and the A10 looks fun to fly. Definitely on my to-buy list but I've still got my hands full with this one...as you can imagine ;-)

Atleast I can land in a simulator. Maybe instead of telling me to play Falcon 4.0, you should play BF3.
