After I got off the DATA Bus I walk up to the Durham Station to start railfanning. Shortly after i get there I hear a horn and start filming. When it comes around the corner I see that it is a Norfolk Southern local freight. The train then rolls through the station. I'm not sure what kind of horn that is. I believe the 2 locomotives where a GP38 and a GE but i'm not too sure. About a 1/2 hour later the northbound Amtrak Carolinian #80 arrives going to New York Penn Station. This is the same train that I caught the evening before with the same consist. After discharging and receiving passengers the train then starts it's journey up to New York. After waiting about 2 1/2 hours the Amtrak Piedmont train southbound is now at the Durham Station. I walked about 2 blocks away from the station to get a different angle of the train departing. This train has an ex-GO Transit unit leading 3 cars going to Charlotte North Carolina. Once this train departs that ends my day of railfanning!
