I hope Hagar proves me wrong w his lyrics on this album because their first release was a major disappointment to me.  "Getch soap up"..."Arriba Arriba"..."Oh Yeah" Gimme a break!

Nobody KILLS a great groove better w ridiculous lyrics like Hagar!!

It's also incredibly sad how he keeps bringing up Van Halen in interviews over fifteen years after they originally kicked him out of the band. He had Mikey sell his soul so they could go out on tour together in that mess of reunion that almost killed Eddie since he hates Sammy's controlling freak attitude so much. Roth's a control freak as well, but Roth is at least secure in his rock stardom and surprisingly humble and non-dellusional about DLR in 2011 vs DLR in 1984. Sam, not so much...

At one point in time I really liked Sammy Hagar, that time was 1986-1990.Inside Van Halen he was hit and miss. Dreams, Right Now, Finish What You Started, Top of the World, Love Comes Walking In... good to great lyrics. There are a few gems on Marching To Mars (his first solo effort post Van Halen), then it's all shit. He's can't sing like he once could either, but he's a good example of great voice and no tact or taste. New Van Halen will hopefully wake him up.

Truth be told, comparing this to Van Halen is like comparing Them Crooked Vultures to Led Zeppelin. No substance. No fireworks. No killer hooks. Hagar didn't make Van Halen. Eddie and to a lesser extent, Alex do. If you play guitar, you realize how much Eddie is doing. He's keeping BUSY, even when it doesn't sound like alot to the untrained ear. Chickenfoot= bar band....Eddie w/ the magic hands/genius guitar ideas= The one, the only, Van Halen!!!
