Value added tax hits every consumer product and therefore every consumer. A huge chunk of your welfare check will go to pay for the added value of your every day needs. The "evil rich" can just buy their yachts overseas or write everything off as a business expense. Or like so many demonicrat millionaires in Congress just not pay the taxes.
