This protest song by Bradford indie band Scatter was written and recorded in 2005 especially for the "Save The Odeon" campaign.
The video (also put together by the band) is a complilation of archive exterior footage dating from the 1930's right up to 2002...

Well done Scatter, that should be in the charts. The last song I saw there was 12 monkeys , year 2000. Actually if this song was in the charts. There would be a lot of interest, as the line 'Victoria don't pull her down' may mean one thing to most people. But when they find out about the old Odeon, it will give the song & you tube film, a real boost!!!!

This building needs to be relevant again:

MY PROPOSAL: THE BRAD PIT!

A music venue, the best in the north, better than Leeds cockpit or Manchester hmv or Manchester academy. Will bring artists from all other the world to perform here making the building and Bradford relevant again, we will have thee best music venue in the north or the country even.

And it will be inline with the district, we will then have, movie/film, theatre, and now music, all next to each other :D

For god sakes please knock this hideous building down. People wake up and move on, times have changed. Can't stand the sight of this, people who come from out of town think what the hell. Not a good impression of Bradford is it? Right in the city centre we have a disgusting old cinema which is infested by rats. This city needs Jobs. Jurys Inn and P. Financial looks so cool!

Make no mistake: this building is being murdered by planners, politicians and so-called "Yorkshire Forward". If it was in Doncaster it would have already been knocked down - planning given last week to demolish the Gaumont which only closed a year ago.
