@contortionist104Hanakanzashi is made out of silk hai mostly,but also strings and metal depending on which month.for instant the jr and sr maiko one type of July kanzashi that has uchiwa is mostly made out of metal, having small uchiwa and flowers in between.same with hanagushi, the maezashi above the bira bira is often made out of a metal or has onyl a small silk flower.for geiko they wear tortieshell kanzashi or laquered kanzashi.

one thing though these kanzashi are as real as theyre hikizuri.

@contortionist104Hanakanzashi is the bigg flower/three flowers on a sr maiko,or the dangly shidare or many small flowers on one side of the jr maikos hair.Hanagushi is the bridge kanzashi on a jr maiko, while most sr maiko who has changed theyre cloth colour to pink in the ofuko style wears a kushi or comb that are covered in silk petals or straight silk.the bira bira or oghi is the silver petals on a comb hanging on the other front side of the maikos hair.over the top of the bira is a maezashi.

@YukioSnowoBloom Please read my comment: i'm talking about the hairdecoration (Hanakanzashi) Miehina is a famous Geiko from Miyagawa cho indeed. I never said a word about them being fake..

@contortionist104 most of the time they are not, the kimonos are. I find this halarous. The geiko is Miehina, one of the most famous geiko in the whole of gion yet you still consider her to be fake lol. Do a quick flickriver search of her please. Plus they are entertain in a famous tea house which only maiko & geiko can work in, I recgonize it. As a matter of a fact if you'll just scroll down on this page you should find an interview by Miehina as the 4th from the bottom in the side videos LOL.
