you don't necessarily need a dock. all you need to do is take the lower panel, set it to autosize. Add your applications, make it transparent! boom you have a dock. it doesn't bounce like macOSX but its a dock and its built in.

actually, that is just how he (or she) has his (or her) desktop setup. linux is farther from a mac than windows...and it's free!
