September 25-26, 2010 POWERleap harvested energy from the swarming crowds at the first ever NYC Maker Faire. The event took place at the New York Hall of Science and attracted some 25k people. Thanks to our measuring hardware partner, Pocket Pico, we were able to show attendees the power in their footsteps and collect 3.5+ kWs of energy!
Also with wireless sensing partner, Civionics, we displayed our foot-powered wireless sensing technology by controlling a fiber-optic display.
