Calling a group of black people "niggers" is entirely different than pointing out that asians are often shorter than whites. "Nigger" is an offensive racial slur, the fact that asians are shorter is objective fact.

So, your example isn't really an equivalent to this commercial. A fair equivalent might be going up to a group of black people and pointing out that their higher melanin content makes them better suited to be lifeguards because they won't get sunburned.

No, it didn't.  If the commercial were intended to be taken seriously, then you'd be right. But it was obviously a joke, not meant to be taken seriously at all, nor meant as a serious claim that anyone is better than anyone else. It was for laughs.
