Having just read Denis's book, I needed to find him and friend Ernst on tape. Their witness and strength of character left me greatly moved.
So often hear ' It must never happen again' but it does. genocide in Africa, Middle East even Eastern Europe, again!
Do we never learn from history, and witness of remarkable people like these, who in a final analysis quote " FOR EVIL TO SUCCEED ALL THAT WAS NEEDED IS FOR THE RIGHTEOUS TO DO NOTHING" The rest of us pass by on the other side!

It is good that you remember and share Mr. Avey because once we forget, this will all repeat. Thank you

In Poland every child must almost obligatory go for a school trip (when you turn 13, maybe 14) there. I did too. The first time it was in Auschwitz-Birkenau. I remember the lady, who was our guide, led us through the gas chambers, showed us the furnaces where they would burn thousands of bodies every day and I will never forget like she
